PhD or MS Graduate Research Assistant - Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention

Applications are open for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position (M.S. or PhD Level) in the Department of Natural Resource Management at South Dakota State University (SDSU) in Brookings, SD. The selected student will lead collaborative work between SDSU (Dr. Coulter, Hannah Mulligan, Logan Zebro), University of North Dakota (Dr. Mark Kaemingk) and USGS (Dr. Nick Cole and Dr. Andrea Fritts) to map the social networks of boaters and anglers in the upper Midwest and identify how these networks can be leveraged for aquatic invasive species (AIS) prevention. Interested students will be responsible for designing and conducting interviews/email surveys with boaters and anglers, collecting and analyzing data, presenting results, and drafting publications and educational materials. The student will develop additional research questions based on their interests and in collaboration with the research team. Minimum Qualifications BS with 3.0 GPA or greater in biology, ecology, environmental science, fisheries and wildlife science, or a related field.
